I am a US Marine Corps officer and fighter pilot now retired, a former stockbroker and adjunct college professor, a leading advocate for low investment fees, and founder of one of the nation's first low-fee advisory firms. My investment career spans three decades and offers a remarkable history of empowering people to achieve their goals by embracing low-cost investment strategies. I started my career as a stockbroker at a large Wall Street firm. The sales culture and high fees didn't suit me and I became an early advocate for low-cost index funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). In 1999, I founded a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) that provided an alternative to high-fee asset management. The firm grew to over $1.5 billion in assets in 2017. My shares have since been acquired by a private equity investor. I launched Ferri Investment Solutions in 2019 and began advising clients under an hourly-fee model.
