Will You Be Alive When We Run Out Of Oil?

This is piffle. The writer has no idea at all what the figures mean, for a start, simply drops them in - 15 gigatons, 10 million square kilometres, 3 inches... she obviously has no notion at all what their real significance is.

Take just that 3 inch figure, and try this bit of arithmetic. It's an old one, but may give an idea of scales.

If you have a piece of string which exactly encircles the Earth - call it 26,000 miles long - how much more string would you have to add to raise that string by those 3 inches off the ground, all around the Earth?

The answer may surprise you. If it does, shame on you.
