Does Technology Destroy Jobs? If Not What Does?

Irrational statement with little thought : "The fastest way to destroy jobs would be to give everyone a minimum guaranteed 'living wage'. Too many people would be content to do nothing." Very disappointing to read this here. There are many ways to construct a GAI including a negative income tax which can empower low wage earns to seek jobs and better themselves potentially moving themselves off handouts. Yes there are those that can/won't leave handouts but what would you do line them up against a wall and shoot them?

As for the role of AI, the transition will be devastating for most. The rate of change from AI and robotics will accelerate and the question will not be jobs but how fast humans can retool their thinking and training to keep up. If you haven't you should read Alvin Toffler's Future Shock.

Employment income should be a good measure of 'quality' which ca adjusted for comparison purposes e.g. labor force participation and employment. Unlike those in the Panama Papers. employed workers are watched vey carefully by IRS.
