Certainly there will indeed be a "correction", the questions are when and HOW painful. I anticipate that there will be warning signs that some see and others miss. Nothing new there. The "when" is not clear yet, but probably after some additional unpleasant event
This is Interesting because earnings appear to be growing more than anticipated. Of course most analysts are a bit off, because the very nature of an unprecidented event is that one has no experience with it. In addition there is the emotional impact of terrible news daily that certainly did no good.
But it is usually happier to be doing better than anticipated, not worse. We really can't say that this is better or worse than last time because there was no last time. We really should be thankful for that.!
Quite interesting, but I see an error in the title.
The Tesla stock split WAS NOT an experiment, it was a very well thought out move to sell more shares. I doubt that any will ever find "experiments" in the moves they make at Tesla. Elon Musk may not be my favorite hero but certainly is a sails expert and a great public speaker.
The author certainly is painting a gloomy picture here, and the very worst part is that I do not see any big errors or incorrect assumptions to challenge.
The reality of taking far more risk than was reasonable, on the presumption that the leverage would not be called on to work, seems to have been a rather poor choice.
It is too late for the application of many additional regulations to have an adequate effect, and I do not perceive that any of the regulators will learn anything, just as they did not appear to learn any lesson from the 2008 downturn.
The one hope that is very disturbing is that CHINA, with an entirely different government system, may possibly be able to regain control of heir situation and "save the world".
That could be very harsh indeed because those responsible might be rewarded with a firing squad, which is still an option there. Effective but very harsh by most standards.
But it may be that even China will not be able to effect much of a rescue. And it is way to late for me to invest in gold. So the times ahead may be "very interesting" indeed.
N.M., You are correct, I was thinking about what happened here un the US. An error on my part. Perhaps our government should consider copying some of the Canadian rues.
