This article is a good read because I've worked with a lot of special needs children over the years. No one can ever really predict CMV or down syndrome while the baby is developing in the mother, however for CMV it's apparent in the few short years after birth. The children do have a harder time learning in the classroom, and usually have some sort of autism. If the biotech world can help these children earlier in life, to rid this world of cancer, and other birth defects just imagine what this world could look like?
