When I was in college in 1971, they taught us that by the year 2000, where would be no more oil and 20% of the earth's population would be dead from pollution. The 1972 book "Limits of Growth" was not yet published, but the professor had a virtual copy,
200 year ago Forier the mathematician and Webster the dictionary author wrote books about man made global warming.
To really study gloom and doom predictions, I would suggest starting in the investment community. Susceptibility to these messages is a real human problem.
