People usually say something is a bubble when people who have no history and no knowledge of investing start promoting it. I think that description fits bitcoin very well. The only thing that gives bitcoin value is peoples belief in it. History shows it doesnt take much for belief to evaporate. #bitcoin

Sure, #bitcoin owners can't necessarily control what happens, but they have a rabid fan base and loyal owners which will make it hard for the value to drop long term. I'f say they are as faithful as $AAPL owner. I think that's what @[WOWCD](user:56252), was referring to.

I don't understand why people get so emotional about #bitcoin? It is an investment like any other with it's own inherent risks and upside potential. While I'm not convinced that bitcoin is the holy grail of currencies, I don't believe it will be going away any time soon. I certainly wish I had invested in it long ago. Had I, I'd be doing very well right now.

Very true, I've often warned about getting mixed in with the #bitcoin craze. At some point, governments may make it illegal or require regulations. Or hackers could potentially steal all the value. Give me good ol' gold any day. $Bitcomp

You may be hurt because of your personal investment, and want to believe that it is invincible, but investors need to know just how vulnerable #Bitcoin is and what those vulnerabilities are.

You are exactly right. As long as #bitcoin isn't regulated and can be banned by countries, it simply can't be an asset class. I'll never understand the mania around #bitcoins.

Perhaps we are moving towards a #crypto world more than the traditional gold standard. #Gold going the inverse direction of #Bitcoin?

There's plenty of info about #Bitcoin available on TalkMarkets and throughout the web. Shouldn't be too hard to understand it for anyone willing to read a lengthy article or two. Why do you disagree? Just like anything it life, it takes a bit of research, nothing more.

#DigitalCurrencies like #Bitcoin and #Ethereum won't go away any time soon. But they'll never replace gold. People appreciate tangible assets that they can see and hold. Not a digital currency, many of which won't survive and can disappear over night, or which is susceptible to theft or hacking.

I don't follow that logic. Isn't each crypto currency completely independent? That's like saying if another country was created and issued their own currency, the currencies of all other countries would fall. #bitcoin $bitcomp

Usually what happens with currencies with market caps this high and coin-to-dollar conversions this unpredictable are "corrections." When Icarus flew too close to the sun he burned himself, when bitcoin hit a price its own users felt was too high, the value crashed. It's common for things like this to happen, but on the other hand look at the unbelievable upside #bitcoin, #litecoin, and other such currencies have had. If people play a risky game like this there are going to be huge returns, but don't forget about the large downsides as well. $BITCOMP
