more I am one of about 300 Certified Consulting Meteorologists (#579, American Meteorological Society) and specialize in how extreme weather events impact commodities and equities. I do long-range forecasting of extreme weather events up to a year in advance and apply those forecasts to trading.
I consult with individual traders, hedge funds and write two newsletters
, The Daily Extreme Weather Briefing (which is for general consumption) and the weekly
Global Extreme Weather Outlook (which is primarily for investors and traders)
. I watch for weather events that will impact stocks and commodities - both short-term (the next two months) and long-term (up to a year from now). I've been using proprietary techniques and models for more than 25 years and research new ones. Not all stocks and commodities move on the weather, some move in lock-step and with others there is a lag time. Some are affected negatively and others are affected positively. I trade conservatively and most trades are based on how weather will affect a stock or a commodity, but not those I have recently written about or advised a client about. I have 34 years of experience as a meteorologist, more than 25 of those as a long range forecaster using proprietary modeling. Previously, I did weather forecasting for airlines and corporate jets, the construction of skyscrapers, for power utilities, major motion pictures, farms, radio, television and a lot of other things (I point you to LinkedIn to read more). I have been quoted in SmartMoney, Better Homes and Gardens, and interviewed for the radio program MarketPlace. I'll be speaking at the Total Wealth Symposium in Panama in September.
