Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Fort Mill, SC. Shoe Carnival, Inc. (SCVL) retails footwear.

It offers casual and athletic footwear for men, women, and children under the Skechers, Clarks, Adidas, Crocs, New Balance, Converse, Roxy, Nike, Vans, Madden Girl, Sperry, Rampage, Keds, PUMA, Timberland, Koolaburra, Jellypop, and ASICS popular brands.

Three key data points gauge SCVL or any dividend-paying entity, namely:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

SCVL Price

Shoe Carnival’s price dropped from $33.90 to $16.38 last year, per Tuesday’s market price.

Three analysts cover the stock tan set a one-year target up $2.62 to $19.00

Historically, however, SCVL's share price grew at a $0.41 average increase per year over the past 25 years.

Splitting the difference to $1.51 puts a target price at $18.30.

SCVL Dividends

Shoe Carnival has paid variable quarterly dividends since July 2012.

It paid a dividend totaling $0.60 for 2025.

And $0.60 is Shoe Carnival’s forward-looking dividend amount for 2026.

SCVL Returns

Putting it all together, a hypothetical $2.11 estimated gross gain per share shows up when adding SCVL’s annual $0.60 dividend to the history-tempered estimate of $1.51 annual price gain.

A little under $1000 invested at Tuesday’s $16.87 share price would buy 59 shares, which multiply the $2.11 estimated gross gain to $125.07 for the coming year.

About 28.5% of that $125 gain comes from an annual dividend payout of $35.60.

And that $35.60 dividend from $1k invested is over 2 times greater than Shoe Carnival’s $16.87 single share price.

(The dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a stock that pays an annual dividend from $1000 invested that is greater than the cost of a single share.)

2 is more than 1.

Therefore, you may choose to pounce on SCVL and its annual dividend payout of about 2 times its share price.

The exact track of Shoe Carnival’s future share price and dividends will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
