Incorporated in 1991 and headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, Magyar Telekom provides fixed-line and mobile telecommunication services for residential and business customers in Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, and the Republic of North Macedonia.  The company operates as a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom Europe B.V. and is primarily listed in Hungary as MTEL.BU; it trades in the US as ADR MYTAY on OTC markets.

Three key data points gauge MYTAY or any dividend paying entity, namely:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

MYTAY Price

Magyar Telekom’s share price increased 87% last year from  $14.40 to $26.88 per Monday’s market price. Its market cap is just over $5B. No analysts cover the stock.

The average annual price gain over the past five years was $4.25.

That annual target would put MYTAY stock price for 2026 at just over $31.13.

Of course, the price could also stay flat, or decline.

MYTAY Dividends

Magyar Telekom has paid dividends annually since June, 1998. The current forward-looking annual dividend of $1.407 yields 5.23%.

MYTAY Returns

Putting it all together, a $5.53 estimated gross gain per share shows up when adding MYTAY’s annual $1.407 dividend  to an average estimated $4.12 annual price gain.

A little over $1000 invested at Monday’s $26.88 share price would buy 37.2 shares which, multiplied by the $5.53, would put the estimated gross gain at $205.62 for the coming year.

Just 25% of that $206 gain comes from the annual $52.30 dividend generated from your $1,000 investment.

Furthermore, the $52.30 annual dividend income from $1,000 invested is near 2 times greater than the recent $26.88 single-share price.

(A dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a stock that pay an annual dividend from $1000 invested that is greater than the cost of a single share.)

Two is twice as much than one.

Therefore, you could choose to pounce on Magyar Telekom with its  dividend payout near 2X the single share-price.

The exact track of MYTAY’s future share price and dividends will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
