Market Briefing For Monday, April 25

Yours truly, 'Bionic Gene,' finally addressed years of Aortic Stenosis with a (minimally invasive.. they promise) TAVR surgery on Thursday. I notice that Edwards Lifesciences is near a new high, probably as a nod to the  installation of their Sapien 3 Ultra valve in me.

Seriously, 'Ultra' is a newly updated 3rd generation valve (as I'd waited about as long as reasonably safe). Combined with a recent Boston Scientific stent, and (St. Jude) Abbott pacemaker, I guess I become a bionic demo of what's 'doable' these days. Good thing; since little of this newest technology existed in approved form at the time I first had indication of stress-related issues; part of why NY hospital told me to cutback stress level (too many hats) or else; oh over 30 years ago.

Weekend update:  Great outcomes - for me it appears; and perhaps a classic market washout.

I'm just emerging from ICU to a regular cardiac room and won't yet take much time or energy to reflect on the obvious multiple failures shy of the 200-Day Moving average of the S&P; and the 1000 point Dow down day. Notice this is exactly along the lines of plastering the mega-caps and the remarks related to Netflix as sounding an alarm days ago by virtue of its huge percentage drop, that reminded investors of the risks of institutional and ETF concentration. For sure they won't all get crunched, but many are just emerging for absurd rallies or overruns of any reasonable valuation metric, as often discussed.

By the way this purge is primarily in-line with the big Generals more broadly now retreating to join the troops long-hunkered down in the trenches; and mostly not so much in-decline as those overpriced gargantuans we've warned of for months as being in-distribution and likely to work-off the excesses.

Be alert for at least a washout and temporary turn.
