Sensex Today Trades Higher; Nifty Above 25,600

Asian markets traded higher on Thursday, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street.

US stock market ended higher on Wednesday as upbeat earnings and better-than-expected economic data fuelled investors' risk appetite.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 161 points higher, and the NSE Nifty is trading 20 points higher.

Asian Paints, Adani Ports, and M&M are among the top gainers today.

Power Grid Corp, HDFC Bank, and HCL Tech, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.

The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.2% lower, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 0.5% lower.

Sectoral indices are mixed today, with stocks in the power sector and the realty sector witnessing selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in the auto sector and oil & gas sector witnessed buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 88.7 against the US dollar.
 

One97 Communication Q2 Results

Shares of One97 Communication (OCL), operator of Paytm brand, came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY26 results.

Paytm earned Rs 2,061 crore in revenue from operations in Q2FY26, a 24.23% increase from Rs 16.5 billion (bn) earned from operations in Q2FY25.

Other income, which may include interest or dividend income, or any other non-core revenue, was recorded at Rs 2.2 bn in Q2FY26 as compared to Rs 1.7 bn in Q2FY25.

In Q2FY26, Paytm reduced its expenses by approximately 8% to Rs 20.6 bn from Rs 22.4 bn in Q2FY25. The company closely monitored its expenses, which increased by 2.3% from Rs 20.1 bn in Q1FY26.

The company reported a net profit of Rs 0.2 bn for the second quarter of financial year 2026 (Q2FY26).

OCL said it will invest up to Rs 22.5 bn in its wholly owned subsidiary Paytm Payments Services (PPSL) via a rights issue.

According to the company, this is being done to increase its net worth, finance working capital requirements, pay for the purchase of an offline merchant payment company, and maintain its position as the industry leader in merchant payments.

It is anticipated that the deal will be completed before 31 December 2025.

Adani Energy Secures Major Renewable Project

The Bhilwara-based textile company RSMW has placed an order with Adani Energy Solutions for the supply of 60 MW of renewable energy.

According to the agreement, RSWM will invest Rs 0.6 bn under the Group Captive Scheme with a renewable genco to supply 31.53 crore units of electricity annually to its manufacturing facilities throughout Rajasthan, according to an exchange filing made by Adani Energy Solutions.

Adani Energy Solutions said that the order will be executed by its dedicated commercial and industrial arm, which serves bulk electricity users.

Over the next five years, the Adani Group company plans to add 7,000 MW to its commercial and industrial portfolio.
