Nifty Above 25,750; Vodafone Idea Up 10%

After opening the day lower, the benchmark indices continued their upward momentum, ended the session in green.

Indian equity market indices Sensex and Nifty snapped a two-day losing streak on Monday, ending a volatile session higher, led by gains in realty and state-owned bank stocks.

At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex  closed higher by 39 points (up 0.1%)

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 41 points higher (up 0.1%).

M&M, SBI, Bharti Airtel among the top gainers today.

Maruti Suzuki, TCS, Bharat Elec, on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

The GIFT Nifty was trading at  25,900, lower by 122 points at the time of writing.

The BSE MidCap index ended 0.6% higher, and the BSE SmallCap index ended 0.7% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading positively, with stocks in the oil & gas and realty sectors witnessing buying. Meanwhile, stocks in the IT sector and the power sector witnessed selling pressure.

The rupee is trading at Rs 87.6 against the US$.

Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 0.1% higher at Rs 121,297 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 0.2% higher at Rs 148,592 per 1 kg.
 

Urban Company Q2 Results

In the news from the service sector, shares of Urban Company rose after the company reported its Q2 FY26 results.

While its losses increased to Rs 0.6 bn, Urban Company reported a 37% increase in operating revenue year over year. Urban Company kept funding its two long-term expansion projects, Native and Insta Help.

The company's new vertical, Insta Help, which focusses on daily cleaning and housekeeping services, lost Rs 0.4 bn, which was the main cause of the adjusted EBITDA loss for the quarter. With Insta Help excluded, the company's adjusted EBITDA profit was Rs 0.1 bn, which represents a Rs 0.15 bn year-over-year (Y-o-Y) improvement.

The core India services business remained profitable at an adjusted Ebitda level, while international markets (UAE and Singapore) achieved Adjusted EBITDA breakeven.

The stock started trading at Rs 161, which was 56% higher than its issue price of Rs 103. The Rs 19 bn IPO was fully booked within hours and ended up receiving bids 104 times more than the shares offered, making it the most popular large IPO of the year.

Urban Company reported a net loss of Rs 0.6 bn for Q2FY26.
 

Godrej Consumer Q2 Results

Movin on to the news from FMCG sector, shares of Godrej Consumer came into after the company reported its Q2 FY26 results.

Its net sales grew 4.3% to Rs 38.2 bn. It reported a volume growth of 3% in the quarter under review in the domestic business.

In the September quarter, its EBITDA dropped 5.8% to Rs 7.9 bn.

In Q2 FY26, Godrej Consumer Products' consolidated net profit dropped 6.5% to Rs 4.6 bn.

To spur profitable growth, GCPL has finalised a deal to purchase the FMCG company under the Muuchstac brand from Trilogy Solutions through a slump sale for about Rs 4.9 bn. The deal is all cash and will be completed in two instalments.

With an enterprise value of Rs 3.8 bn, GCPL will pay Rs 2.8 bn in the first tranche. A year later, it will pay roughly Rs 1.6 bn, with an enterprise value of Rs 4-5 bn.

Tata Chemicals Q2 Results

Movin on to the news from chemical sector, shares of Godrej Consumer came into after the company reported its Q2 FY26 results.

The company reported a 3.10% drop in operating revenue to Rs 38.7 bn. It reported operating revenue of Rs 39.9 bn for the same quarter last year.

Tata Chemicals reported Rs 5.3 bn in EBITDA. Compared to Rs 6.2 bn in the same quarter of the prior fiscal year, this was 13% less.

For the quarter that ended in September 2025, Tata Chemicals Ltd. reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 0.7 bn, a 60% year-over-year decrease. The company recorded a net profit of Rs 1.9 bn in the prior quarter.
