November Performance Of The Market's 15 Cannabis ETFs Ranged From +6.1% To -14.4%
The performance of the 15 marijuana/marijuana-related ETFs varies dramatically depending on their makeup of constituents. In November this segment of the cannabis market ranged from +6.1% to -14.4% (excluding the 2 leveraged ETFs) and declined, on average, 7.3% (compared to -8.4% in October) in total.
The marijuana & marijuana-related ETFs segment of the cannabis market consists of 15 ETFs of which 2 are US-centric (HMUS; USMJ), 2 are leveraged plays (HMJU; HMJI), 2 are marijuana/marijuana-related plays (ACT; MJ) and the remaining 9 are more broadly based. In addition, 7 the 15 are passively managed and 8 are actively managed.
The ETFs (excluding the leveraged ETFs) experienced a:
- decline of 7.3% in November, on average, vs. a
- decline of 8.4% in October, on average vs. a
- decline of 13.3% in September, on average, following on the heels of a
- decline of 11.9%, on average, in August.
