Many of the world’s largest companies are sitting on substantial cash reserves, typically used to fund operations, investments, and strategic initiatives. Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B) leads the group with roughly $380 billion in cash. Other notable companies, including CITIC Limited, Daiwa Securities (DSEEY), Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL), and Amazon (AMZN), each hold more than $100 billion. These large cash positions underscore a growing emphasis on financial flexibility, allowing companies to weather uncertainty while positioning themselves for opportunistic acquisitions and long-term strategic moves.
