Indian equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty50, ended lower on Monday as IT and FMCG shares weighed.

At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex  closed 281 points lower (down 0.3%)

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 78 points lower (down 0.1%)

Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Bharat Elec are the top gainers today.

Infosys, TCS, HCL Tech, on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

The GIFT Nifty was trading at 24,360, 71 points lower at the time of writing.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.1% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.06% higher.

Sectoral indices were trading mixed today with IT sector and telecommunication sector witnessed selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in metal and realty sector witnessed buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 95.6 against the US$.

Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 0.5% higher at Rs 1,55,283 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 0.7% higher at 2,37,669 per 1 kg.

PTC Industries Q1 Results

Shares of PTC Industries came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

PTC Industries reported revenue from operations of Rs 1.92 billion in Q1 FY27, up 97.4% year-on-year (YoY), supported by strong execution.

EBITDA increased 400% YoY to Rs 0.489 billion, with the EBITDA margin expanding to 25.5% from 10.1% in Q1 FY26, aided by favourable operating leverage and inventory adjustment.

Profit after tax (PAT) rose sharply by 465.7% YoY to Rs 0.292 billion.

PhysicsWallah Q1 Results

Shares of PhysicsWallah came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

PhysicsWallah reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 10.54 billion in Q1, up 24.4% year-on-year (YoY) from Rs 8.47 billion in the year-ago period.

Sequentially, revenue grew 14.7% from Rs 9.19 billion, while losses widened from Rs 0.749 billion in Q1.

In terms of segmental performance, the company's online coaching and book sales division contributed Rs 5.49 billion to revenue.

The offline segment, including classroom-based coaching and hostel services, recorded revenue of Rs 4.90 billion.

Ashok Leyland Q1 Results

Shares of Ashok Leyland came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland reported a 0.8% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 6.16 billion in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 6.11 billion in the corresponding period last year.

Revenue from operations stood at Rs 130.70 billion during the April-June quarter, up 12% year-on-year (YoY) from Rs 117.09 billion. This marked the company's highest-ever first-quarter revenue and net profit, driven by record volume growth.
