
Asian stocks opened broadly higher on Monday, even as renewed military action between the US and Iran kept investors focused on the risk of further disruption in the Middle East.
US stock futures edged higher on Friday as investors awaited the closely watched August jobs report for further indications of the Federal Reserve's interest-rate trajectory.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 201 points lower, and NSE Nifty is trading 60 points lower.
ICICI Bank, Bharat Elec, Bharti Airtel Company the top gainers today.
Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, TCS on the other hand is among the top losers today.
The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.2% lower and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.07% higher.
The rupee is trading at Rs 94.3 against the US dollar.
JSW Steel August 2026 Production Update
JSW Steel reported consolidated crude steel production of 24.65 lakh tonnes in August 2026, registering 3% YoY growth compared with 23.83 lakh tonnes in August 2025.
Production from Indian operations stood at 23.87 lakh tonnes, up 4% YoY, with capacity utilisation at 88%. JSW Steel USA - Ohio reported production of 0.78 lakh tonnes, down 11% YoY.
The steel business undertaking of Bhushan Power and Steel (BPSL), a subsidiary of the Company, was transferred on a slump-sale basis to JSW-JFE Steel (JV company) in March 2026.

RVNL Secures Major SJVN Thermal Contract
Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) has received a Letter of Award from SJVN Thermal for the construction of a permanent siding along with an aerial track connection for the 1,320-MW Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar.
The project includes construction of a permanent siding and an aerial track connection from the plant boundary to Chausa and Pawani Kamarpur in Buxar under Phase III. The infrastructure will support the 1,320-MW Buxar Thermal Power Project being developed by SJVN Thermal, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN.
The contract is valued at Rs 9.03 billion and is scheduled for completion within 36 months. RVNL is a Government of India enterprise engaged in implementing rail infrastructure projects across the country.
