How Waiakea Water Has Reacted to Consumer Demands For Sustainable Bottled Water

When it comes to adapting and evolving with the times, the majority of industries react differently. This has predominantly been because there have been various trends that have affected each niche in a few ways. However, there have been several things that have affected every industry to a large degree over the years. One of the most notable of these has been technology, which has had quite a noticeable impact on the majority of firms.

While there have been several ways that this has been the case, there are a few defining traits that have popped up with each. Some of the most notable of these include making product development much cheaper while also speeding up the entire process. As a result, many firms have a much quicker research and development phase while having a more cost-effective route to market.

However, this hasn't been without its drawbacks, as many technologies have created a significant amount of waste and pollution. These are traits that many consumers now wish to avoid, with this being applicable across the majority of industries. While newer technologies have been able to accommodate this, it hasn't meant that every business niche has been quick to capitalize on them.

Perhaps one of the largest industries that have been quite slow in this regard has been the bottled water sector, which is arguably responsible for a considerable amount of pollution. The majority of this has been driven by plastic bottles, the majority of which are single-use and can take decades, if not centuries to decompose. This waste is something that quite a significant number of consumers want to avoid, which is something that many firms have tried to adapt to.

One of the primary ways that this can be seen is that the majority of plastic bottles used by such companies are now recyclable. However, quite a large number of consumers have believed that this approach is simply passing the responsibility to buyers. As a result, quite a large number of customers now look to buy from firms that are environmentally-conscious and that take a proactive approach to doing so.

While there are relatively few companies that do so, there are several that have become increasingly more popular over the past few years. Prominent among these is Waiakea Water, which has received a significant amount of praise for its approach to taking on this issue. Much of this focuses on the packaging that's used with the bottled water, as well as the overall manufacturing process.

Founded in 2012, Waiakea Water focuses on making its products as environmentally-friendly as possible, which has been done in a few notable ways. Chief among these is the fact that the packaging is 100% recycled, with the manufacturing process also utilizing 85% less energy to create the bottles than its main competitors.

Carbon emissions are another area that Waiakea Water has been able to stand out, as the manufacturing process uses 90% less than many traditional bottles. As a result, the company is one of the few bottled water companies to be certified as CarbonNeutral.
