Gold Price Remains Firm Ahead Of The Fed Decision And Middle East Developments

Gold prices hold steady as a weaker dollar and lower yields bolster demand ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting.

Gold (XAU/USD) stays firm as markets focus on easing geopolitical tensions and the upcoming Federal Reserve policy decision. A weaker US Dollar and lower US Treasury bond yields have supported the recent recovery in gold prices. Attention remains focused on developments in the Middle East and the Fed's updated economic outlook, which could influence the next direction in gold prices.

Gold Holds Firm as Fed Decision and Middle East Developments Drive Market Focus

Gold recovered from recent losses as a weaker US Dollar and lower US Treasury bond yields supported demand for the precious metal. Declining bond yields reduced the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets, making gold more attractive. A softer US Dollar also improved gold's global appeal. These factors helped extend the rebound and supported prices at the start of the week.

The recent pause in military exchanges between the United States and Iran also helped stabilize financial markets. Easing geopolitical tensions weighed on Oil prices and reduced inflation concerns. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that mediators continue to work to prevent further escalation. These developments eased immediate safe-haven demand and supported broader market confidence.

Attention has now shifted to the Federal Reserve policy meeting. Markets remain cautious ahead of the interest rate decision and updated economic projections. According to the CME FedWatch Tool, the probability of a rate hike this week has increased to roughly 33%, up from about 12% ten days ago. This uncertainty keeps gold prices range-bound as markets await clearer policy guidance from the Federal Reserve.

Gold Technical Analysis: Symmetrical Triangle Keeps Price Near a Decision Point

The gold chart below shows price remains within a large symmetrical triangle pattern. The upper descending trendline continues to cap rallies, while the lower ascending trendline has repeatedly provided support. This structure reflects a period of consolidation following the strong advance seen earlier this year.

Price recently tested the lower boundary of the triangle and rebounded, keeping the broader pattern intact. The latest bounce has improved short-term sentiment, while price continues to trade near the converging trendlines as it approaches the apex of the triangle. This tightening price action suggests that the market is nearing an important technical decision point as buying and selling pressure remain balanced.

A sustained move above the descending resistance trendline would strengthen the bullish outlook and signal that the broader uptrend is resuming. In contrast, a decisive break below the ascending support trendline would weaken the current structure and increase the risk of a deeper correction. A move beyond either boundary of the triangle is likely to determine gold's next directional move.

Gold Outlook: Fed Decision Could Determine the Next Trend

Gold continues to hold firm as markets assess monetary policy expectations and geopolitical developments. A weaker US Dollar and lower US Treasury bond yields continue to support prices, while easing geopolitical tensions have improved overall market stability. At the same time, the symmetrical triangle pattern shows that price is approaching a decisive point. A confirmed move above resistance or below support is likely to determine gold's next directional trend.
