In my opinion as an older person, the current rush into oddball substitutes for cash is scary and unjustified. Do you really think there is an edge by spending your money in sports betting or by buying cryptocurrency? Even when SPACs are not already set up for a Trump money fund, they are still high risk, because you are not being told where they are looking to buy shares. And for what it is worth, copying Cathie Woods is no longer the path to riches.
These innovations are all based on the current usefulness of credit and debit cards for paying for stuff, but of course they are much less secure. There are cheats out there who are just waiting for suckers to bite, in exotic lands and in places like China and Russia and others. The shortage of computer chips gives these sites a free pass.
