Today stock markets more or less panicked over the fear of war over Ukraine after a mystery bombing of a school in the breakaway eastern region. Luckily no one was hurt. Russia is believed to now have 190,000 troops in the Ukraine area.

There is some good news, like a fall in the price of oil and a rise in the US dollar.

Another glad tiding is that the PRC is forcing food delivery services to cut their fees and inflation.  The brave, among whom I am not numbered, would be buying heavily on Friday.

*Among the stocks in focus is Novartis tipped for its dividend. It was up nearly 4%. Then it fell. NVS.

*Eli Lilly got a 2 cent hike in its eps and won a buy rating (before it was a hold.) LLY.

*The Merck with a bladder cancer drug is the German company, not the US one. MRK.

*AAIGF, an insurer, gained fractionally in UK trading.

*Bank of Nova Scotia was tipped by Stifel brokers. BNS.

*However Barclays fell 2.23% over a deal it made for wrongdoing against Newham Council, a London borough. BCS.

*Gold rose to over $1900 per ounce. GLD.

*UK analysts are arguing over whether nuclear power is or is not clean energy. I think it is.
