Sounds like an interesting read. But it doesn't sound like it answers the deeper questions. For example, I agree that #Apple creates a form of lust in it's loyal customers, to, as you said, "driving them to pay irrational prices when there are essentially identical products available from competitors at far lower prices." But HOW has Apple achieved this?
Yes, #Amazon has built itself up from an upstart book seller, to essentially being able to provide for every aspect of our lives. but HOW did they manage to achieve this? Every other book seller is now either still just selling books, or out of business all together.

The cab lobby is powerful in Israel. But I suspect this had more to do with #Waze - the Israeli GPS app purchased by #Google ($GOOGL). Waze recently started a car sharing aspect to their app and #Uber would have competed greatly with this.
@[Moon Kil Woong](user:5208), while I almost always agree with your insight and pearls of wisdom, in this instance I must disagree. What made #Google the titan it is today is that it gives it's employees the freedom and resources to explore and R&D what ever intrigues them. Who knows what future innovations and blockbuster products will come out of these efforts.
You yourself cite android and phone technology as a reason to invest in Google. Yet if Google had followed the same logic you recommended 10 years ago, they'd still be nothing more than a search engine. $GOOGL
It is hard monetizing this, however with dropping active users is going to make it even harder. Sadly #Google and #Facebook will make it hard for any major new Internet media to generate ad revenue. Be careful picking start ups in this space. $TWTR $FB $GOOGL
Catchy headline. I think you are right that history will repeat itself here. But what's to stop a company like #Google or #Amazon getting into this space? Maybe even #Facebook?
