Wolfgang Weber-Thedy is managing owner of Weber-Thedy Strategic Communication Since 1997, a Zurich, Munich and Luxembourg based advisory firm for corporations and financial markets with a multinational first address client base stemming from three continents.
Together with his team of five highly qualified specialists, he advises clients from a broad spectrum of industries. Services range from analysis of corporate communications and investor relations, development and execution of strategies at national and international levels to position companies, products, services, and enhance corporate and financial reputation.
He manages all activities be it their business as per corporate calendar or extraordinary circumstances, e.g. restructurings, insolvencies, reorganization, downsizing, m & a, corporate governance disputes, public tender offers, friendly and unfriendly takeovers, changes of share structures and IPOs.
Wolfgang enjoys an excellent reputation in the field of restructuring. Among many others, Wolfgang was entrusted with the personal advisory of a private investor in the context of the most controversial takeover of Germany's leading department store chain with more than 25,000 employees and assumed the role of spokesperson ad interim after the successful takeover. His work in this project has been widely acclaimed in various books and is now used as a showcase in academic education. Most recently, he advised the restructuring of a European fast fashion chain with more than 1,600 stores.
Wolfgang was awarded the Grand Prix Stratégies des Relations Presse, Relations Publiques, Paris, for the best financial communication of the year in France. Among others, he was the 2006 and 2012 winner of the Elis Kopel Award. He is member of a multitude of professional organizations. He regularly authors professional articles.
Prior to his career he was the assistant lecturer for economics and statistics of Prof Dr. Francesco Kneschaurek at the Centre of Futures Research of St.Gall University.
Wolfgang holds two M.A.'s of St. Gall University in Law and Int’l Affairs & Governance respectively. He finished a formal banking training with Commerzbank AG as the top scorer. He is fluent in German and English and has basic skills in French, Italian and Japanese.
He likes to spend his free time with his family and friends and is a passionate cross-country skier in winter. In summer he continues to work on improving his golf handicap and can often be met in and around Lake Zurich.
