It doesn't take a lot of analysis to understand that the system we have is failing us. The holy grail of 3% growth every year is farcical. The over production and consumption is then at odds with issues of conservation and global warming. On one side we are encouraged to buy a new phone every year and praise the companies who do best selling them. On the other we try to reduce plastics and overuse of the worlds resources. There are resources on this planet, enough for us all to live well. There are brains on this planet to, enough to sort out how to distribute it according to work, effort and creativity, rewarding the over achievers and penalizing the laggers. But we have to cope with inertia, the people who are afraid of change and have entrenched positions. Usually we sort this out by war. The cull this time is too big to contemplate. But there is a rule, whatever has to be done will be done, but the longer you wait to do it the larger the cost.
