Dr. Gupta is a natural philosopher applying the scientific method to reimagine investment management. Vikas founded OmniScience Capital to provide a scientific approach to Global and India listed-equity investments. Together with his team, he formulated the proprietary Scientific Investing Framework which stands on the strong foundations of nearly 100 years of investment research and practice.
Vikas has earlier incubated the global listed equities vertical at ArthVeda Capital, which won international awards and rankings. Besides he obtained a US SEC license for the firm with a vision of catering to US clients in a compliant manner. He led advanced discussions and/or inked agreements with leading stock exchanges, asset management firms and research firms across the globe, including from the US and Europe.
He has a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and has earned his Masters and Doctorate from an Ivy League University—Columbia University, New York. He later served as a Professor and Research Scientist at IIT Kharagpur and University of California, Irvine, respectively.
Vikas has been invited to write for Indian and global publications, such as, Moneycontrol, Mint, Economic Times, The Street (USA) and Seeking Alpha (USA). He has been frequently quoted and interviewed in various publications on Indian and Global markets, such as Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, Gulf News, Economic Times, CNBC, ET Now, Channel News Asia and others. He has co-authored a book on Corporate Governance in the context of Sarbanes-Oxley.
