Mr. Liang joined Baidu in June 2005, and became Vice President and General Counsel in June 2011. Mr. Liang has served as the Executive Assistant to Baidu Chairman & CEO Robin Li since January 2013. Mr. Liang leads the legal, policy research, patent, online management, operation auditing, sales supervision and professional ethics departments and oversees the daily operations of Baidu’s Executive Office.
Mr. Liang was instrumental in Baidu’s IPO in 2005. Since then, he has overseen the negotiation process of numerous domestic and international M&A deals and has spearheaded many of the company’s public policy efforts. Mr. Liang has provided strong legal support in developing new business opportunities and models for Baidu.
Mr. Liang graduated from Yale Law School with an LL.M. degree. He also earned law degrees from the University of New South Wales and Peking University. Prior to joining Baidu, he worked at the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, and at Jun He Law Offices. He also worked at the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP as a visiting attorney.less
