In my day job, I am the Executive Director of the Steel Valley Authority (SVA), the earliest and most innovative initiative fighting to restore manufacturing in Pittsburgh, the Commonwealth and the rust belt. I am also the Managing Director of Heartland Capital Strategies (HCS), a responsible investment network in the U.S. and Canada. Visit us at www.steelvalley.org and www.heartlandnetwork.org. In my other day job, I am the co-author of the "Responsible Investor Guidebook," which will be published in early 2016. The Guidebook, commissioned by the AFL-CIO and Heartland sponsors, and co-authored by Annie Malhotra, will provide best practices and tools to invest in renewing cities, reviving the industrial commons, growing the clean economy and taking shareholder actions to make the "boss" accountable. I am also the author of "Up from Wall Street: The Responsible Investment Alternative" (Cosimo, 2009), and numerous other books, chapters and articles.
