I serve as the Managing Director with responsibility for leading the Investment Insights Group at GIC. My team derives insights on Listed Equities, Fixed Income (Macro, Credit, Structured), Private Equity and Real Estate covering both fundamental and quantitative investment styles. I also serve on GIC's Corporate Management Committee and am part of the firm's Global Leadership Group.
Background:
My past experience is as a Quantitative Executive with success in leading hyper-growth initiatives as well as expertise in turning around divisions using digital transformation. At Bank of America, I was privileged to lead a world-class team that directed the reinvention of the Equity & Fixed Income Markets businesses around Big Data and A.I.
If you work at Wall Street and you have an interest in A.I., then you likely already know me from my book “Big Data and A.I. Strategies” co-authored in 2017 with Marko Kolanovic of JP Morgan, that pioneered application of A.I. to financial investments.
Prior to joining Bank of America as their first-ever Head of Data Science within Global Markets, I guided Investment Strategy Research at JP Morgan to utilize Big & Alternative data and Machine Learning/ A.I. algorithms. My team also led research into signals for systematic trading across asset classes by coupling data analysis with market intuition and was ranked #1 by Institutional Investor across multiple categories for consecutive years.
My 20+ years of R&D experience have resulted in 2 books and 25 widely cited publications across quantitative finance, signal processing, applied mathematics and social sciences. I was honored to teach A.I and Machine Learning at NYU, where my fellow professors have pioneered many of the greatest advances in the field over the past two decades. My PhD thesis was at the intersection of information theory and machine learning.
