I am a CEO and founding the Institute for WHO's GOOD, PBC to to analyze and evaluate corporate sustainability based on ESG and artificial intelligence (AI).
I was a former leader of research & consulting center at NEOECOS (former LG Environmental Research Institute) in Korea and co-secretary general of Korea Environmental Council in Europe (KECE) based in Brussels. I have extensive experience in analyzing environmental, health and safety (EHS) legislation, and the regulatory aspects of risk management systems for companies with operations in Korea, US and the European Union.
In particular, during this time, as an Asia leader of Young & Global Partners (YGP), I helped Dae-Young Park, CEO of YGP to support EHS compliance audits in Korea and China at facilities such as semiconductor manufacturing, research and development, and domestic product manufacturing and technology centers.
After I published a thesis on the conflict between international environmental law and international economic law regarding to the WTO CTE in 1998, I had supported the Ministry of Environment and exporting companies with a pioneering perspective on the response to international environmental regulations that have been in vogue since the early 2000s.
In the process, I have gained in-depth knowledge and experience in international, European, Japanese and Korean EHS regulations. In addition, we conducted a number of studies on carbon emission reduction in relation to green growth, and designed and piloted the second Korean emission trading system together with several universities.
Before joining NEOECOS in 2007, I had researched climate change policies and energy programs and the interactions of international environmental agreements and WTO for the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE) in 2005, Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI) in 2004 and Korea Environmental Institute (KEI) in 1998.
Currently, I lead ISD, Inc. and Who's Good. Recently, I worked for years to introduce a sustainable finance system to Korea, and as a result, in February 2022, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, one of the largest banks in Korea, launched the first SLL product in Korea. In 2021, I established subsidiary, Sustainability Credit Bureau (SCB), the first Credit Bureau based on ESG for the first time, and is currently awaiting approval from the Financial Services Commission. Lastly, I am an inventor who has a total of 8 patents related to ESG analysis in the US, Japan and Korea.
