That's a quote from a cook book, but it's true for so many things.

I’m a data scientist with a strong curiosity, a creative mind, and strong work ethic. I am interested in working on complicated problems that have many intertwined quantitative and qualitative properties and finding actionable insights for stakeholders. Such as modeling social systems(digital marketing/financial markets), economic markets, and the impacts of sustainable business practices on the economy/financial markets. Very interested in GIIRS, B Analytics, SASB standards and other efforts to use measurement and data to facilitate businesses optimizing for sustainable goals.
Professionally, I have an extensive experience in managing computer systems(networks, software of all types, databases, etc…). Everything from desktop support tech to managing a 30 person IT department. The result is I feel very comfortable working with new technologies and managing most data engineering issues.
Since 2009 I’ve been analyzing complex data sets(stochastic modeling, data mining, factor analysis, machine learning, etc…) working with Fixed Income financial data(CDO’s, Mortgage Backed Securities, Attribution, etc…), digital traffic/marketing data(Google Analytics, proprietary web metrics, digital advertising, SEO, etc…), and utility CRM data to measure the impact of marketing on energy savings.
Academically, I studied complex networks and systems, stochastic differential equations, numerical methods and probability. The result is a toolbox of quantitative methods developed for analyzing non-deterministic systems as well as knowledge and experience applying those methods with software systems(R, Matlab, SQL, Hadoop, Impala, Hive, etc...).
