I started in the Federal Reserve System as an economic analyst but moved to Bank Supervision where I was a capital markets analyst. For 12 years I gained experience in complex transactions such as derivatives, structured finance, and complex investments and hedging strategies. I joined Andersen Consulting and worked in a similar capacity for 2 years. In 2001 I started my own firm, Strategic Financial Solutions, an international capital markets consultancy. I split my efforts between client-based consulting at financial institutions and conducting seminars and developing training in capital markets concepts. I was previously the Director of ESG and Regulatory Initiatives at Angel Oak Capital, where I coordinated the firm’s research and publication activities on a variety of financial and risk management topics. I previously led Angel Oak’s financial institution advisory practice, managing client engagements which included risk model validations, strategic and regulatory stress testing implementations, and investment portfolio risk and performance assessments. I was also previously Angel Oak’s Chief Risk Officer from 2012-2014 and initiated the organization’s enterprise-wide risk management framework and SEC compliance program. I am currently focusing on my consulting practice as President and CEO of Strategic Financial Solutions. My goals are to continue expanded my existing network of alliances with other firms and consultants to increase the scale and scope of my business while gaining additional experience in this very dynamic field.
