Impact Investing and Venture Philanthropy are my primary areas of focus. I am always interested in creative and efficient ways of solving the world’s challenges.
I have provided pro bono advisory services to private social impact companies and nonprofit organizations such as MIT Solve, TechSoup, and The Preservation Fund.
My background includes experience in motion pictures, commercial real estate, land planning, micro-finance, conservation, financial services, royalty investment structures, and all areas of philanthropy.
Originally from California, I spent the first decade of my career as a film editor, documentary cinematographer, still photographer and screenwriter in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Subsequently, I spent eight years in environmental land-planning, designing sustainable land-use plans for public and private landowners.
I was a founding member of the American Cinema Awards Foundation, honoring legendary performers in film, television and music such as Clint Eastwood, Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Cruise, Whitney Houston and Elizabeth Taylor, for the benefit of the Motion Picture and Television Fund.
After moving to the northeast, I served as Director of Business Development at LHO Group, a Registered Investment Advisory firm founded by Leif H. Olsen, former Chief Economist at Citibank.
For six years, I was a member and Chairman of the Livelihoods Council at Save the Children, focused on food security and financial security through agricultural support and micro-finance.
