Paul is a strategic communications, public relations and marketing consultant to the investment management industry. Paul cut his teeth in the Global Financial Crisis, starting his career in November 2007, a few weeks after the equity markets topped. With over 15 years of intensive experience, Paul's areas of expertise include active investing; exchange-traded funds (ETFs); index and passive investing; index construction; factor investing and smart beta; target-date funds (TDFs); fixed income strategies including total return, unconstrained, nontraditional and multisector bond funds; hedge funds; structured outcome or defined outcome investing, strategies and ETFs; managed risk equity investing; options-based strategies; risk parity; volatility investing; absolute return funds; mutual fund conversions (to ETFs); multi-asset strategies; endowment investing and the Yale model; private markets investing; PE returns-based analysis; hedge fund replication; liquid alternatives; risk management; portfolio construction; annuities and guaranteed lifetime income products; retirement income; and the regulatory environment and political climate impacting the investment management industry.
Paul's work has been shortlisted for "PR Campaign of the Year" at the Mutual Fund Industry & ETF Awards in three of the four years the award has been offered at the leading 40Act funds awards show, winning in 2023 for Keramas' work popularizing options-based structured outcome ETFs and again in 2024 for promoting Active ETF launches and strategies from multiple fund sponsors.
