I retired in 2020, as CEO of Pershing Advisor Solutions, LLC, a BNY Mellon Company, and now work as a consultant, speaker and board member with other enterprises that are going through dynamic transformation.
Currently, I serve as Advisor in Residence for Ernst and as an advisory board member for Commonwealth Financial Network.
These are compelling applications of my career experiences as a senior executive for several businesses, and as a consultant and trainer for hundreds of companies in a variety of industries. My industry specialty is in financial services, in particular working with Wealth Management Firms, Broker/Dealers, and Registered Investment Advisory firms through each stage of their business evolution.
I carved out my professional niche in financial services because I had a brilliant mentor who advised me to develop a technical specialty plus a market focus and become known for both. I honed my skills by working for and with hundreds of great leaders throughout the US and internationally. Before I shifted to executive leadership, I cut my teeth as a journalist, a radio reporter, a salesperson, a bank and business trainer, a consultant, and a public speaker.
My first “real gig” after school was as a general assignment newspaper and radio reporter (you will never guess what my beat was back then). I have written four books and have delivered hundreds of speeches to industry groups throughout the US, UK, Canada, Australia and parts of Asia and Europe.
My passion for people and helping them thrive does not just apply to the clients I served. I was active in BNY Mellon's Connect (Reverse Mentoring) Program and have had the pleasure of interacting with some of the brightest young minds in the company.
I feel it is my duty to share what I have learned whenever possible. I sponsor a personal economics class at my former high school in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (what locals call the “UP”), and a financial literacy summer camp for elementary students. I retired as a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission Asset Management Advisory Committee (AMAC), and as chair of the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning Workforce Development Committee.
When not working, I am in search of new places to visit, great food, a round of golf and music that makes me get up and dance.
