Martina Macpherson, FICRS, PhD (c), is a global leader with a long track record in (sustainable) finance, policy / regulation, data, Fintech / AI & SaaS, and index solutions.
Currently, Martina is part of SIX’ - the Swiss and Spanish Exchanges Group - product leadership team and chairs the cross-divisional sustainability products & services council. She is a board member at FoSDA (global data alliance), a visiting fellow and lecturer at Henley Business School and University of Zurich.
She is a consultative working group member of ESMA's Sustainability Standing Committee, n advisory board member at the European Law Institute and to the global FinTech analytics firm, SG Analytics.
In 2014, she founded SI Partners Ltd., an ESG investment content, research and analytics firm. She has held a range of senior strategy, global research, business and product development roles at ODDO BHF AM, Moody's ESG Solutions, S&P Global Inc., MSCI ESG Research and Lloyds Banking Group - Insight Investment. Earlier in her career, she worked for F&C AM and Deutsche Bank.
Martina has led and participated in financial markets working groups such as ICMA’s work streams, FinDatEx’s EET working group, the European Law Institute’s Corp. Regulations working group, and contributed to the UNGC CFO SDG Principles, the EDMC’s ESG policy guidance, as well as the Sustainable Stock Exchanges’ and the UK Gov's taskforce reports on sustainable finance.
Martina holds a M.A. from University of Frankfurt, an MBA certificate from the LSBF and a certificate from the Investment Association in the UK. She is a fellow at the ICRMP and the ICRS and an alumni of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. Martina co-edited RiskBooks’ ESG in Portfolio Analysis Handbook (2022), Routledge’s Handbook on Biodiversity (2022) and contributed to the AI Book (2020) and to an agri-finance publication by Burleigh Dodds Publishing (2024). She also contributed a chapter to the first Research Handbook on Sustainability Reporting by Elgar Publishing (2024). For SIX Group, she has won numerous strategy, product and initiatives awards (2022-2024).
Martina has been recognized as a ‘Sustainability Ambassador’ by the Global Thinkers Forum (2024) and as one of the ‘Top 50 Women in Finance’ (World Finance Forum 2022), and as a strategic engager and influencer (Commetric ESG Influencer Index, 2020, 2021; Modern Slavery Influencer Index, 2018) and by various organisations for her work across industry and academia.
She is a Jury Member at the Portfolio Institutionell Awards (> "Best Impact Investor").
