If you prefer working with a financial advisor who actively manages your assets and focuses on risk-managed asset growth, let’s talk.
As president of Signalert Asset Management LLC, I work with affluent individuals and business owners seeking capital preservation and investment planning, and who appreciate getting healthy returns on solid investments. As an entrepreneur and business owner, I understand the value of investment plans that are well thought out to achieve long-term growth.
I oversee all investment decisions made by our firm and am proud to say we are fully independent; we do all our own research and create our own risk models, with excellent results for our clients. Many of them are people whose life transition (such as divorce, inheritance, business acquisition or sell-off) brings financial transition and an influx of personal wealth--and with that, a new need for asset protection. I believe that sizable settlements, proceeds, or estates require a steady hand and investment guidance to shield assets, while also generating income that will last through our clients’ retirement years. I don’t do anything differently for myself than I do for clients when it comes to investments and asset management.
I have written three investment books, one with my father, Gerald Appel (who founded Signalert), which speak to several areas of expertise in my investment practice. They were all published by Financial Times:
- “Investing with Exchange Traded Funds Made Easy” – I was a relatively early adopter of ETFs and share insights into why investors should consider these funds, and how to include them in one’s investment portfolio (1st ed. 2006, 2nd ed. 2009)
- “Beating the Market Three Months at a Time: A Proven Investing Plan Everyone Can Use” – based on a momentum strategy, the book posits the advantages of re-evaluating broad areas of the market every quarter (2008)
- “Higher Returns from Safe Investments” – this provides an overview of my investment philosophy and approach, and talks about how to use the bond markets, mutual funds, and stocks to generate lifetime income (2010)
Specialties: Asset management, financial planning, portfolio design, retirement planning, asset allocation.
