I am passionate about investing in the equity markets of frontier countries. At Frontier Global Partners, our team focuses on those countries with stock markets that are not included in the MSCI emerging market universe. During the years since launching our firm in 2006, I have travelled to frontier countries in Africa (Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Zambia), Eastern Europe (Romania, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro), Latina America (Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay), the Middle East (UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq) and Asia (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Vietnam). More important than travel and research is the effort to persuade investors that these frontier markets present an excellent opportunity, based on their high growth, low valuation and secular improvements in education, technology and politics.
