Ken Marlin is Vice Chairman of Tech Investment Banking at D.A. Davidson, a full-service financial services firm, with about 1,400 people working from more than 100 offices arounf the US and Europe. He also is the founder of Marlin & Associates. Securities LLC - the international, tech-M&A focused investment bank that he founded and led for more than 20 years - and then merged into DA Davidson in September 2021. Marlin advises publicly traded and privately held US and international middle-market technology-enabled firms on the best ways for them to buy, sell, grow and thrive. “We have a passion for building long-term relationships through focused expertise, teamwork, hard work, and excellence all in an effort to help clients develop and execute their strategic options and reach their goals.”

The book and its principles leverage a Marine Corps ethos that calls for business leaders to do the right things, for the right reasons, every time "...from the Battlefield to the Boardroom".
Marlin also is an adviser and member of the Business Administration advisory committee of the University of the People (each year helping more than 130,000 students from more than 200 countries attain tuition-free undergraduate and graduate education). He is a board member of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club (4 clubouses serving more than 4,000 of the most underserved kids throughout New York City) and a past board member and trustee of the Phoenix House Foundation, the Rosenthal Center for Addiction Studies, the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, and the American Red Cross of Greater New York, Marlin is also a supporter and volunteer at the Wall Street Warrior foundation and the BJ/SPSA Homeless shelter.
