I was born with a passion for finding the diamond in the rough. I am a true fan of the underdog. I love seeing something created from nothing and find great satisfaction in bringing a vision that others can't see to reality. I’ve been an entrepreneur since my teenage years, leaving my last “real job”, to start my own business at the age of 19 and to create my own “something” from nothing. A born natural with numbers, I first thought I’d pursue finance out of college and work my way up Wall Street, but found trading stocks empty and alone. The results weren’t tangible, and my work left nothing behind. Real estate and construction were different. The size and complexity of projects seemed never ending and the idea of building something that would long outlast my years left a sense of contribution. This was an industry full of potential, I thought, and a place where I could make a difference, not in the building of buildings, but in the building of the business and of people. I heard a saying once that goes “May the size of your life be measured by how long you live on in the hearts and minds of those you touch.” In the grand scheme of things our life, and our work, is all about the people we create experiences and memories with. The greater the experiences, the deeper the connections, the richer we come from it. The goal of any career should be to do great work with great people, and anything less is a waste of precious time. So I get out of bed each day with the goal of creating a place where people can be the very best versions of themselves, to find their own diamond in the rough, and to realize their own true value. Our company is about our team, and what our team can do when given the chance. “Without the individual nothing is possible, yet within the individual anything is possible.” I believe this because I see it every day in some of our very best people. And because of that, I believe there is no end to what our company can become. Building each day so that our people can grow, is a never ending goal that I find both challenging and rewarding. It is why I do what I do.less
