Jim is a former congressional candidate for New York's 3rd Congressional District and is currently the President & CEO of the Security Traders Association (“STA”), a grassroots organization serving individuals employed in the financial services industry with affiliates in 20 North American cities. In this role, Jim maintains relationships with U.S. regulators and congressional policymakers on both sides of the aisle, advocating for financial markets structured around free-market capitalism, competition and investor protection. Prior to joining STA, Mr. Toes worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for 18 years where as a Managing Director he held various management positions in equity sales, trading and clearing, interacting with both buy- and sell-side clients – institutional, broker-dealer, middle market and retail investors. Mr. Toes graduated from Fordham College, Fordham University, Bronx, New York.less
