Well-thought out and informative article. I'm consistently stunned with the reveal of how much money our government entities have borrowed - and squandered - on salaries. I think that 35-38% of state and local employees are unionized, and that salaries are 40% greater than private sector. It will be poetic justice if a lot of the too-high muni retirement plans become unpayable. You cannot bleed the taxpayers forever.
