I am the Founder and CEO of JSG Capital LLC, a family office and investment platform that makes investments and donations across a wide range of opportunities. JSG Capital’s largest holding is Sunrise Capital Partners LLC, a 40+ year old investment firm that runs a range of proprietary, quantitative investment strategies. I serve as the CEO and Managing Partner of Sunrise and determine and drive the firm’s overall business strategy and oversee the firm’s day-to-day business operations and activities. Previously, I was an attorney with Hale and Dorr LLP (now WilmerHale) in Boston and later, with Howard Rice (now Arnold & Porter LLP) in San Francisco. I hold a J.D. cum laude and an M.A. in Public Affairs and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University. I have completed additional graduate studies in business and finance at The Wharton School, Harvard Business School, and Northwestern University. I co-founded the California Alternative Investments Association (CalALTs) in 2010, served as that organization’s President from 2013 to 2019, and continued on the Board of that organization through the end of 2020. In 2023, I launched the Colorado Alternative Investment Association (COALTS). I hold both Series 3 and Series 65 registrations and I am a member of the California, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin State Bars and also a licensed real estate broker in the States of Colorado and California. I have appeared on CNBC and in a variety of other media outlets and for years I have presented at investment industry conferences on various topics relating to investing.
