I am a Full Professor of Finance and the Coordinator of the Lab for Machine Learning in Finance and Management (LAMFO) at the University of Brasilia (UnB), where I have been working for over 11 years. I have a strong background in engineering, statistics, finance, and business analytics, with an undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), a master and a doctorate degrees in Statistics from the University of Sao Paulo (USP), and other two doctorates degrees in Business and Finance from USP and Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). I also hold the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) and the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certifications, demonstrating my expertise in risk management. At LAMFO, I lead a team of researchers and students who apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics to solve real-world problems and challenges in finance and management. I have published multiple papers and books in my field, and I have received several awards and honors for my academic contributions. I have also worked as a Director of Strategic Intelligence and New Business at the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), and coordinated the Science and Technology Park and the Business Incubation Program at UnB, gaining valuable experience in managing innovation environments.
