Howie is pursuing a career as a Solicitor and is planning to take SQE2 in October 2024. Practice areas/sectors of interest are Corporate, Commercial, Private Equity, Corporate M&A, Funds, Asset and Investment Management, Entertainment and Media, and Banking and Finance. He completed his Legal Practice Course part-time and PGDL (Law Conversion Course) full time graduating in both with a Commendation at BPP University Law School. Whilst studying for his PGDL, Howie became the Chief Communications Officer for the Film Law Society. He also worked Pro Bono with Care4Calais, using his Kurdish language skills to assist Asylum and Refugee lawyers with migrants crossing the English Channel. Howie studied for BA (Hons) in Public Relations with Film Studies at London Metropolitan University for his undergraduate degree, gaining Upper Second Class Honours. Subsequently, he went to SOAS, University of London and earned a MA in International Studies and Diplomacy. From 2017 to 2020, Howie worked as a freelance Producer and Assistant Director in independent Film and TV production, mainly in New York City, the UK, and France. Before this role, he worked in the business events industry as a Conference Producer serving the Oil and Gas, Investment Management, and International Affairs sectors. Howie also worked as a Parliamentary Aide for a Liberal Democrat MP and as a Research and Communications Assistant at the Kurdistan Regional Government's UK Representation. Howie was recently diagnosed with Combined Type ADHD and is an ADHD and Neurodiversity advocate. He is also a dual UK and US citizen. He joined Aspiring Solicitors Aspire 2022 as a Coachee and Member. He was also a Semi-Finalist in the 2022 Commercial Awareness Competition at Allen & Overy's London office.less
