Geoffrey Mazullo possesses 30 years of technical expertise as an analyst, trainer and writer covering corporate governance; corporate social responsibility (CSR); environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting; investor relations; and socially responsible investment (SRI) in developed and emerging. He has surveyed the governance practices of banks, corporates and financial institutions in BRIC, Canada, the Caucasus, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Egypt, European Union (EU) member states, Japan, South East Europe (SEE) and the United States. He contributed to the development of corporate governance codes and SRI policy in transition economies in CEE, Egypt, Russia and SEE.
He is the author of the chapter, “Responsible Investment in Eastern Europe” in The Routledge Handbook of Responsible Investment (2015). From 2010 to 2013, he published the interview series “Five Questions about SRI” on the Emerging Markets ESG internet site. The research report “520 Insights about SRI," published in March 2013, analyzes data aggregated from the interviews. It is cited in the CFA Course on ESG.
In 2014, Mr. Mazullo designed for UNDP and the Mostadam initiative the course, "Introduction to Sustainable Finance." Since then, he has delivered the course five times in Cairo, to a total of 175 bankers.
From 2004-2016, Mr. Mazullo was Adjunct Professor of the School of American Law (SAL), a joint program of Chicago-Kent College of Law and law schools in Poland as well as Ukraine.
He is Chair of the Evaluation Committee of the Nasdaq Baltic Market Awards, that recognize excellence in investor relations.
While Senior Analyst with Institutional Shareholder Services, Mr. Mazullo wrote Proxy Voting Guidelines on Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland, published in 1993. In 1994, he wrote Proxy Voting / Corporate Governance Guides on Austria, Finland, Norway and Sweden for Investor Responsibility Research Center.
Mr. Mazullo holds a a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) degree from Georgetown University.
