After studies in art history and completing graduate work at the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, Frank Holbrook taught painting and drawing at Tufts University. He then moved to Northern California and began work with the Historical Preservation Division of the Napa Valley Planning Department. While there, he identified and cataloged many of the historic structures that have now been preserved in the Napa Valley region. Most notably, he managed the restoration of the Buford House in downtown Napa, successfully placing it on the National Register of Historic Places. During the early days of Frank’s design career he was fortunate to have worked for several legendary designers, including Anthony Hail, Craig Wright, Thomas Bartlett and Douglas Marseille. He established his own design firm in the 1980’s, and for nearly 25 years has found the world of interior design to be both engaging and rewarding.
