Flurin Grond has 15 years experience in managing multi billion dollar alternative asset portfolios. Currently, Flurin is Deputy CIO at Progressive Capital Partners. Progressive Capital Partners is an alternative investment boutique based in Zug / Switzerland.
From 2012 to 2017, Flurin was a portfolio manager of a global alternative equity mandate for Abu Dhabi’s largest Sovereign Wealth Fund ADIA (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority). Prior, he was for 10 years with Man Investments, the worlds largest Alternative Asset Manager. Flurin was a portfolio manager of the Equity Hedge US & Europe team within Hedge Fund Research of Man Investments and was based in Pfäffikon, Switzerland. Before, Flurin was a senior hedge fund analyst for RMF Investment Management, responsible for researching European long short managers. Previously, he was the portfolio manager of the RMF Global Macro portfolio and responsible for analysing and managing global macro and emerging market strategies. In this role, he worked for four years in the company’s London office.
Prior to joining RMF in 2002, Flurin was 9 years in equity trading and derivatives market making. He spent three years working for Bank Vontobel, trading equities and equity options. Previously, he was at the international derivatives desk at Credit Suisse advising on portfolio hedge strategies. He also spent several years trading G7 and emerging markets equities for UBS in Zurich.
After finishing business school (KV Zug) in 1992 Flurin joined UBS Zurich as trainee in the Equity department. Flurin Grond received his degree as a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) in 2002, is a CAIA charter holder, and has an MBA with Distinction from the Strathclyde University in Glasgow / Scotland.
