My career in the health and fitness field started quite early. Both of my parents loved to exercise and I started gymnastics and dance lessons at age 5. My family’s obsession with their weight taught me about “dieting” and weight consciousness at an early age. I have always had a thirst for knowledge about health and wellness. While I was pursuing a short career in the fashion industry, I always taught aerobic classes as a part time job.
As personal training became popular, I decided in 1990 to abandon that career and pursue fitness full time. I got certified by the American Council of Exercise and NASM and started training one on one as well as continue my group classes. In 1993, the opportunity came up to buy Homebodies. There were 8 trainers at the time and the business had a roster of who’s who in the New York business world. Many of those clients are still with us today.
