American Schism-A Literary Critique

Say what you will about Pence, but when push came to shove, he did the right thing and upheld the Constitution, even though it meant the end of his political career.

Off topic, but earlier there was a thread about how Vivek is probably positioning himself to be Trump's running mate.  I saw this article and it leads me to think even more that I was right:

Rebounded? I would have to disagree. These stocks are trading at less than 1x sales. They peaked at 22x sales.

Barbarians At The Gate

Trump has been getting crazier and crazier.   His refusal to let go of power on Jan 6th and his encouraging the attack on the Capital to now when he openly says his presidency will be one of retribution and of weaponizing the DOJ to go after his opponents. He's started quoting Hitler at his rallies. I get why racscits and white supramcists would vote for him, but I don't undersand how any rational person could seriously vote for him, espcially when there are some "normal" Republicans left.

Joe Biden Is Not America's President

Actually, while there may not have been a clear winner, there was a clear loser - DeSantis. But not for the reason you might think...

Only one of the two debaters is actually running for president.  Any dings Newsom took from DeSantis are meaningless since he's not running. But every hit DeSantis took will hurt him since he's the only one in the race.

Credit Card Debt Sets A Grim Outlook For The Holidays

Household debt service burdens are well below where they were in 2006. A headline number like a record amount of credit card debt doesn't provide context. Is credit card debt higher? Yes. Is the economy larger? Also yes. I think the arguements laid out are not compelling enough to change my bullish outlook.

Where To Invest In The UK Mess

There is a lot of intel anaylsts in Israel who believe Russia had a prominent role in the Hamas attack, along with Iran. Iran wanted to scuttle the imminent peace deal between Saudia Arabia and Israel. Russia wanted to distract world attention from it's war against Ukraine, and wanted to stretch US thin - they now have to support two countries, Israel and Ukraine.
