Carolyn Barnette is the Head of Market and Portfolio Insights for BlackRock’s U.S. Wealth Advisory business. She and her team focus on putting markets into context for financial advisors, tying the best of BlackRock insights into actionable portfolio implications. Carolyn has built her career around designing better portfolios for wealth, most recently working on BlackRock’s Portfolio Consulting team as both a consultant and team leader. As a consultant, she worked with advisors on asset allocation, product due diligence, and practice management, helping them translate their best thinking into portfolio implementation. Prior to joining Portfolio Consulting, she worked as an ETF specialist on BlackRock's iShares Product Consulting team, and was one of the original analysts hired at IndexUniverse (now ETF.com) to design its flagship ETF Analytics tool. Carolyn graduated cum laude from Claremont McKenna College with a dual BA in Economics and Government. She is also a CFA charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner.
